One of my favourite pieces of mythology. all myths are open to interpretation but the way that this stroy can be understood is that prometheus had the power of foresight, of which he actively chose to ignore and therefore zues punishes him eternally for giving humans to power of fire or in zues words the ability to challenge the gods.
I believe humans to forever be pushing the boundaries of existence and see ourselves as almost godlike beings the way we rule and hold dominion over the earth and its resources. but a god should know limitations and how and when or if something should be done.
I believe humans to be a-lot like prometheus brother epimetheus when it comes to our outlook on production of things like single use plastics. epemetheus meaning afterthought and prometheus meaning forethought
